COURSES
Ukrainian Language Courses at St. Vladimir Institute
These courses are intended for the general public interested in learning Ukrainian as a second language. It may be that you are of Ukrainian ancestry and just out of practice, have Ukrainian in-laws or are just interested in learning another language. The primary focus of all levels is on improving conversational skills. Call to enquire which level would be most suitable for you.
After each course, we will help arrange for interested participants to travel to Ukraine (May and August) to practice their language skills and meet new friends.

Number of sessions: 30 sessions (60 hours)
Level I - (Beginner Course):
Learn the Cyrillic alphabet, practice oral and written drills, and elementary grammar, basic grammar and conversation.
Thursdays from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Level II:
Recommended for those who have completed the introductory level. The focus is on communication for relating past, present and future events, expanded vocabulary, conversational sentences for real-life situations.

Level III:
Recommended for those who have had a solid, systematic introduction to the language to develop more fluency in everyday communications. More advanced grammar structures in the past, present and future.

Master grammar structures and expand your vocabulary to express your observations and opinions.

Advanced Ukrainian:
Develop more fluency in real-life communications. More advanced grammar structures enable you to handle more complex everyday situations.

Icon Writing Courses (Iconography)
Intensive hands-on Byzantine-style icon writing course led by a professional iconographer. Write your own icon using the ancient technique of egg tempera in just ten weeks.

Traditional Ukrainian Wedding Korovai Workshops
St. Vladimir Institute is pleased to provide you with an opportunity to learn the art of making a traditional Ukrainian Korovai or wedding cake. ART EXHIBIT - The Art of Adele Kereliuk
Until November 22, 2009.
The proceeds from this tribute to Adele's late husband, Bill Kereliuk, go towards establishing the
Adele and William Kereliuk Scholarship Fund. This scholarship fund will be for a St. Vladimir's Resident Student pursuing a career in the Arts.
