Welcome to St. Vladimir Institute, affectionately known as Vlads. As a member of the Vlads community, you will have an opportunity to meet people of other cultures and walks of life. You will have an opportunity to acquire a better understanding and appreciation for the differences in people, ideas and opinions. Our dedicated, well-trained staff will work with you to help make the residence community conducive to academic, social, educational and personal development.
Over the course of a 40-year history on Spadina Avenue in Toronto, the student residence has been the heart and soul of St. Vladimir Institute. Since our founding in 1963, thousands of Ukrainian-Canadian and other students have chosen Vlads as their home away from home while living and studying in Toronto.
As a resident of Vlads, whether of Ukrainian or non-Ukrainian heritage, students are entitled to participate - free of charge - in all language and cultural programs. They enjoy priority access to many additional resources and events. Best of all they live in an environment that promotes their heritage and brings them into contact with other young and older Ukrainians.
The full-time students of Ukrainian heritage residing at Vlads are eligible to apply for a number of annual scholarships.
